The Huanglian River Waterfalls in Daguan

Located in Daguan County, Zhaotong Prefecture the Huanglian River Waterfalls cover an area of 25 square kilometers where over 40 waterfalls are densely distributed, among which the major ones are the Gepu Waterfall (the Singing Waterfall) in the east of the scenic spot and got the name for the antiphonal singing of the elegantly-dressed Miao people at the Maypole Festival, the Shuishangwutai Waterfall (The Stage in Water) named after a huge stone platform resembling a stage and the Dahuaban Waterfall (The Smooth Flagstone) called so for a large smooth flag of sandstone sloping in the stream.
